Minimally invasive approaches to treat benign and malignant nasalsinus

The 14th and 15th of March, took place the third course of functional endoscopic sinus surgery, organized by the Section of Rhinology of the Otorhinolaryngology Service of the Hub. The course had two aspects: a theoretical one complemented by a practice on the implementation of the most common surgical techniques, and a second one monitoring live surgical sessions.

The functional endoscopic sinus surgery includes several techniques that have in common a minimally invasive surgical action inside the nose, with no need for external incisions and an endoscope guide connected to a TV camera which can increase the injuries. It allows to fix anatomical structures or remove related injuries with numerous pathologies, such as permanent nasal sinus inflammation or acute sinusitis unresponsive to medical treatment as well as the treatment of benign and malignant nasosinuals tumors and transsphenoidal approach for pituitary surgery, in collaboration with neurosurgery.
