Several researchers at the Institute for Biomedical Research (IDIBELL) met with leaders of research and development of Ferrer International Group to explore ways of collaboration. The meeting took place on January 21st at Bellvitge University Hospital and was chaired by IDIBELL´s managing director Emilia Pola, and the director of research and development of the international pharmaceutical group Antonio Guglietta

IDIBELL and Ferrer International Group explore ways of collaboration

The meeting was divided in four sessions that focused on strategic research lines for IDIBELL and for Ferrer: regenerative medicine, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases and diseases of the nervous system. The meeting included a presentation of the infrastructure and support service for clinical trials at IDIBELL, by the scientific coordinator of Bellvitge Hospital and the Central Research Unit in Clinical Trials (UCICEC), Josep Maria Arnau.

Ferrer International has over fifty companies in the sector of pharmaceuticals, food and chemistry. The company is present in over sixty countries worldwide. Soon, the company Ferrer will locate its core R & D in the Space Biopol’H Bellvitge.

The meeting is part of the strategic action of IDIBELL to promote the transfer of research results in the framework of the Biopol’H
