Bellvitge University Hospital hosted the Eighth Knee Conference

The Hospital Vall d’Hebron, IMAS-Hospital de la Esperanza, Bellvitge University Hospital, Hospital Viladecans and the Dexeus University collaborated on this event.

At the event were presented  the new biological treatments in degenerative knee condition, such as treatments with stem cells and growth factors. These innovative procedures contribute to cell renewal and improve the tissue when surgery is not possible or desired or when traditionally used conservative treatments are not effective.

During the meeting were also discussed the authorized techniques in the reconstruction of cartilage defect, such as with autologous chondrocytes or cartilage transplants.

Surgeries were performed live in different pathologies of current interest, such as anterior cruciate injury and prostheses replacement.
